FAQ

Answers before you book your move.

Here are the questions customers usually ask before requesting a quote or confirming a move date.

Quick answersPricing, packing, timing, coverage, and move-day details.
How do I get an accurate moving quote?

Share your move date, pickup and delivery locations, home size, inventory notes, and any extra services like packing or specialty items. The more detail you provide, the clearer the estimate will be.

Do you handle both local and long-distance moves?

Yes. Summit Moving supports local moves, apartment moves, long-distance relocations, office moves, packing, and specialty item handling.

Can I book packing only?

Yes. You can request full-service packing, partial packing, or help with fragile rooms like kitchens, artwork, or glassware.

What should I do before the movers arrive?

Clear entry paths, reserve elevators or parking if needed, separate personal items you will carry yourself, and point out fragile or high-priority items during the walkthrough.

Are my belongings protected?

Our crews use protective materials and careful handling practices. Coverage details can vary by move type, so we will explain available options before your move is confirmed.

Do you move specialty items?

Yes. Please mention items such as pianos, safes, artwork, antiques, oversized furniture, or fragile equipment when requesting your quote so we can plan properly.

How far in advance should I schedule?

For best availability, schedule as early as possible, especially around weekends, month-end dates, and peak moving season. Short-notice moves may still be available.

Can I change my move date?

Contact us as soon as your plans change. We will do our best to adjust the schedule based on crew and truck availability.
